Purpose
To provide seed money to support research projects related to LGBTQ+ Methodist history. The grant money is not to be used for equipment, publications costs, or researcher’s salary.
Award
A grant maximum of $1,000 will be available at the discretion of the committee of judges and in accordance with available funding each year.
How candidates are chosen:
Selection is made by a committee consisting of two or three persons from General Commission on Archives and History.
How to apply
The candidate must submit an application which includes the following:
- A vita or resume
- A detailed description of the project
- A timetable for the project, including the expected date of completion
- A detailed budget narrative
- The candidate must submit two letters of recommendation from persons who can provide evidence of his/her/their scholarly ability
Awarding Grant:
Submitted proposals should be postmarked no later than July 31. Grant recipients will be announced by fall of that year. A copy of the final product will be deposited with the General Commission on Archives and History of The United Methodist Church.
