Oral History Recording Application

The General Commission on Archives and History is intentionally seeking to collect oral histories of persons who are not predominantly represented in the written record of the United Methodist connection.

Please use this application to tell us about your ministry, mission, and witness within The United Methodist Church. Once you submit your story, a copy will be downloaded to your device and a copy will go directly to the Digital Vault at the General Commission on Archives and History.

If viewing page on computer

Using your phone’s camera application, scan the correct QR code above for the make of your phone.

For android phones, please follow the prompts that are presented to you on your phone. This will download an app directly to your phone for use.

For iPhones, scanning the qr code will take you directly to the web version of the application.

If viewing page on mobile device

Long click on QR code image and choose “Search with Google Lens” or use the iPhone’s visual lookup functionality.

GCAH is closed for research services.
The General Commission on Archives and History is closed for research services until the end of 2025. All physical and digital donations, unless previously agreed upon, ended on June 1. All research requests and visits ceased on July 1. This closure is to facilitate an inventory of GCAH Collections. It is anticipated that Research Services will resume in 2026.
