2025 Annual Meeting of the NEJ Commission on Archives & History

REGISTER NOW: for the May 13-15, 2025 Annual Meeting of the NEJ Commission on Archives & History.  The Peninsula-Delaware Conference Commission on Archives & History has graciously offered to host the 2025 NEJ CAH meeting in Dover, Delaware, exploring the theme: “Peninsula Methodism and the Quest for Racial Justice.” See brochure at 2025 NEJCAH Annual Meeting Flyer_online

Presentations on:

  • Captain Thomas Webb, who introduced Methodism to Delaware and a congregation he founded.
  • Harry Hosier, and a visit to the location of the first sermon ever preached to an all white congregation by an African American.
  • Peter Spencer, who co-founded the first African American Church in Delaware, and founded the first African American Methodist Denomination three years before Richard Allen organized the AME Church.
  • Thomas Garrett, Harriett Tubman, and the Underground Railroad.
  • Big August Quarterly: The nation’s oldest African American Festival.
  • Bishop Levi Scott, and the African American Couple who brought him to Christ.
Peninsula-Delaware Conference has added online registration for the May 13-15, 2025 NEJCAH meeting in Dover, Delaware.  Online registration will be open through May 1, 2025.
This online registration form may be found at https://pendel-reg.brtapp.com/NEJCAH2025.  It enables credit card and electronic ACH payments.  Registration under the early fee option is due by April 15.

GCAH is closed for research services.
The General Commission on Archives and History is closed for research services until the end of 2025. All physical and digital donations, unless previously agreed upon, ended on June 1. All research requests and visits ceased on July 1. This closure is to facilitate an inventory of GCAH Collections. It is anticipated that Research Services will resume in 2026.
